Son of Jared and Wealthy (Newton) Beebe. He and his wife had two children: Ethel and Roy.

During the Civil War he enlisted in the Union Army on August 31, 1864 in his native Ohio. Mustered into Company B, 182nd Ohio Infantry on October 1, 1864. Discharged from Federal Service on July 7, 1865 at Nashville, TN.Father: Jared Bube. Widowed.
