Charles W. Barber

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Felida Baptist Church for Charles William "Bill" Barber, 57, who died in Vancouver Sunday, April 13, 1997, of pancreatic cancer. He was a groundskeeper for Clark Public Utilities. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and landscaping. Mr. Barber, born May 31, 1939, in Spokane, lived in Vancouver the past 47 years.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Pauline, at home; one daughter, Brenda K. Carrington of Vancouver; two sons, Charles D. of Portland and Brian R. of Tualatin; one sister, Betty Basford of Ridgefield; and five grandchildren.

There will be a private burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 371, Vancouver, WA 98666.
