In the 1870 Federal Census for Wyandotte, taken July 19th, Mary is 40 years old, born Ireland, with husband John, age 40, and daughter Bridget age 9.
In the 1880 Federal Census for Wyandotte, Mary is 50 years old, widowed and running a boarding house on Biddle Avenue, her daughter Bridget, age 18, is in her household.
In the 1900 Federal Census for Ash Township, Monroe County, Michigan, Mary Coughlin, age 74, born May 1826 in Ireland, is in the household of her son-in-law and daughter, A. C. and Bridget McCormick, farmers.
Also, on her death certificate her birthdate has May 20, 1823 while the headstone has the year of 1827. 1900 census says May 1826 and the earlier censuses point toward 1830. Therefore, I would say her birthdate is really uncertain.
