1. Catherine

3. Rebecca
4. Levi
5. Ransom
6. Andrew J.
7. Elizabeth
8. James Baily
9. Henry Douglas.

Joel was said to be a devout man. He donated land for the early Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag, Ms.

He was a farmer. Many of his descendants still reside in and near Sontag.

Two of his sons Levi and Andrew were killed in the Civil War. Two of his sons Eli and Henry died about 6-7 yrs. of age. There is no record to indicate the cause of their deaths. Nor did they die at the same time. There were several years between their deaths.

HE, his wife, and children are buried in this the Johnson- Douglas Cemetery
.
The current land owner destroyed their headstones by pushing them into a near-by creek shortly after he purchased the property.
As far as we know their bodies are still there.

Joel's descendants collected money in November of 2011 and purchased a monument in remembrance of them.
The Shiloh Baptist Church allowed the family to place it in their cemetery to be protected and cared for.
Our family is very grateful to the church for this act of love.
