Chester was born, October 3, 1917 in Chicago, Ill to Stanley and Bernice (Milewski) Rogalski. After serving our country in WWII, he married the late Cecilia (Barchalk) Rogalski. Together they raised two sons and three daughters. Chester was always helping someone. Whether it was one of his children, a neighbor, a friend, a relative or even a stranger, he was there to help in whatever way he could. He was employed at the Watervliet Paper Mill as a Millwright, retiring after 38 years. Even after retirement if there was a piece of machinery that they couldn't repair they would say, "call Chet; he'll know how to fix it." Many people that lived in the Watervliet area brought him all sorts of things to "fix". He was indeed the local fix-it man. Chester enjoyed his daily coffee at the local Sidetrack Café where the girls treated him with special care.

He is survived by his daughters, Rita (Lyle) Vowels, Ruth (Kim) Yancich both of Traverse City and Renell (George) Watkins of Watervliet; son, Raymond Rogalski of Conway, AR; brother, Max Rogalski of Sodus; two sisters, Virginia Woodley of Benton Harbor and Lillian (Stanley) Barchalk of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Becky) Rogalski, Tricia (Andy) Standley, Kevin (Shannon) Rogalski, Marlene Miller, Jessica Yancich, Elizabeth Yancich and Karissa Treder; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece Karen Barchalk.

Chester has endured the death of a granddaughter, Amy Rogalski, a son, Roger Rogalski, his brother James Rogalski and his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Cecilia. When his wife became ill, his nurturing side was revealed. Even though he was almost 80 years old then, he took such loving care of the love of his life for the eight years she was ill. So whoever said "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"…had it all wrong.

Through all of this, he was still very witty and helpful in any way he could be. Having lived 94 years he had many stories of the "old days" on the farms and during his Army days in the war and about all the family times which were so wonderful to listen to. He was not only an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, if you were one of the lucky ones to experience his friendship you know first hand what a wonderful person he was. He was truly an amazing person that is loved and admired immensely. He will be missed greatly by all.
