William Brisbane "Bris" Hogan is the third child of thirteen children born to Samuel Sanders Hogan and Margaret Jane (Crankfield) Hogan.

He was born April 15, 1841 in Columbia, Richland, South Carolina and died October 8, 1914 in Blythewood, Richland, South Carolina.

He first married Nancy Perry in 1866. His 2nd wife was Frances Ann "Fannie" Smith that he married in 1873.

Bris was in the Confederate army during the Civil War. He was in the 7th Battalion (Enfield Rifles) in the South Carolina Infantry (Nelson's), Company B. He ranked in a Private and Ranked out as First Sergeant. (Film Number: M381 roll 15).
