Ray Otto Hammons,PHD and his wife, Annie Ray Howell Hammons, loved to travel. They camped in every campground in Georgia. They also traveled to several foreign countries. He had a distinquished career which included, teacher, pastor, author and U.S. Navy Veteran.

A devout Christian and longtime member of Northside Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon in Churches in North Carolina, Indiana and Georgie.. He and his wife were co-authors of "The History of Northside Baptist Church" which was published in 1993.

He leaves his loving wife, three daughters, Mary, Sue and Lynda, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one brother Roy.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ray O. Hammons, Jr., parents, William David Hammons and Frances Louise Douglass Hammons, and four brothers and five sisters.
