Bertha M. Glasgow Services Held on Friday

Bertha Mae Glasgow, daughter of James and Mary Billups Parrish was born February 17, 1883 and departed this life at the Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital, July 27, 1960, being at the time of her death 77 years, five months, and 10 days old. She had been in failing health for several years and on December 1 was moved to the Memphis Community Home where she was cared for until three weeks ago, when she became worse and was taken to the hospital.

She joined the Baptist Church when a young girl and was faithful to her church and attended regularly until her health failed.

She was united in marriage to Samuel C. Glasgow on January 25, 1898 and to this union was born seven children, five boys and two girls. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away June 17, 1958, one son, Glenn, her mother, father, five sisters and four brothers. She leaves to mourn her passing four sons: Carl and James of Rutledge, Missouri; Wayne and Nelson of Granger, Missouri; two daughters, Flora, Mrs. Miles Epperson of Gorin, Missouri; and Beulah, Mrs. Ronnie Nelson of Oakland, California, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three brothers, Tom Parrish of Burlington, Iowa; Walter Parrish of LaHarpe, Illinois; and Millard Parrish of Ashland, Kansas, and a host of relatives and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and relatives and friends.

Last rites were held Friday afternoon at the Arbela Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest Deatrick and Rev. Bill Davenport officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Alma Dannenhauer and Mrs. Norene Montgomery with Mrs. Pearl Drake at the piano. Body bearers were Vernon Yoder, Quentin Jones, Leland Dannenhauer, Harry Callahan, Burley Bertram, and Charlie Jackson. Burial was in the Granger Cemetery.
