U.S. Congressman. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the Pennsylvania Military College, in 1915, was commissioned an officer in the US Army and served as a 1st Lieutenant battalion adjutant in the 807th Pioneer Infantry, during World War I. After the war, he settled in New Jersey, Trenton, New Jersey, in 1919, engaged in the building business and was a member of the New Jersey State House of Assembly, (1928-30). In 1933, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-third Congress and to the next six succeeding Congresses, serving until his resignation in 1945. He then become a member of the Public Utilities Commission of New Jersey, a post he held until retiring in 1967. He died at age 71 in Feasterville, Pennsylvania.
