Wilhelm (went by William) Grabs was the only known child of Johann Gottfried Grabs (1716-1793) and Anna Maria Wolson (1716-1780), who married May 1743 in Germany, and shortly after emigrated to Pennsylvania.

William married Anna Barbara Pfaff (1758-1816) on 20 Apr 1780 at Friedberg, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. William and Anna were the parents of four known children, namely:

1. Anna Maria Grabs Gambold (1783-1854)
2. Beatus (baby boy) Grabs (1786-1786)
3. Johann Gottfried Grabs (1792-1872)
4. Christian Heinrich Grabs (1792-1857)

There may be additional children that died young.
