Elmer Joseph Pfitzenmaier, 72 of 3110 Davenport Ave., retired after 30 years of farming five miles north of Bettendorf, died suddenly at 7:30 a.m. today in his home.
A resident of Davenport the last four years, Mr. Pfitzenmaier was born Sept. 4, 1881, in Sherrard. He married Pearl Love June 2, 1909 in Preemption. He was a member of Summit Presbyterian church.
Survivors Include his widow; a daughter, Miss Bernice E. Pfitzenmaier, Davenport; five sons, David, Cleveland ; Ben, Davenport, Richard, Chicago, Raymond, Davenport, and Charles, R. R. No. 1, Bettendorf; a brother, Budd Pfitzenmaier, Redlands, Calif., and 10 grand children.
The body was removed to Hill & Fredericks mortuary, where services will be held in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Forrest Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
