"Robert Ashton Jamison, 90, died at the Osceola Leisure Manor Tuesday, September 16, 1986. Services were held from the Weldon Methodist Church Saturday, September 20 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Leroy Perkins of Corydon officiating at the final rites. Interment was in High Point Cemetery in Decatur County, Iowa.
Robert Ashton Jamison was born January 16, 1896 in Clarke County, Iowa, son of Thomas Benton Jamison and Ella Hall Jamison. He attended schools in rural Clarke County and on September 24, 1924 was married to Neva Kelley in the Christian Church parsonage in Osceola. five children were born to this union.
He was a farmer and spent his lifetime in the Weldon community. He was a member of the Methodist Weldon Church.
Survivors include his wife, Neva of Osceola; son, Robert of Largo, Florida; son, Russell and wife, Joan of Fairfax, Virginia, son Raymond and wife, Shirley of Weldon; daughter, Rilma Muller and husband, Emil of Osceola; 15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and son-in-law, John Surbaugh and wife, Sally of Frederic Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Roberta."
