Charley Albert Johnson, 84, of Bakersfield died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at California Care Center. He was born March 3, 1919 in Bailey, Grady Co., Oklahoma, to Henry L. and Ollie Johnson. Charley served in the U.S. Army during World War II and moved to Bakersfield after the war where he has lived for over 50 years. He worked many of those years at the Giumarra Bros. packing shed in Edison, and later retired as a groundskeeper for the County of Kern. Charley will always be remembered for his friendliness and warm smile. He lived his life for his family. He was always there for everyone.
