CYPHERS was born in Morrow county, Ohio, Nov. 12, 1845. In his early infancy he moved with his parents to Michigan. In 1857 the family came to Kansas and settled near what is now Topeka. In 1860, they moved to Illinois, but returned to Kansas in 1869, and located in Hiawatha. In his boyhood days he united with the Methodist church. Mr. CYPHERS was married at Savannah, Mo., June 12, 1882, to Maria E. SPARKS. Of this union, two children were born, Harvey, who died March 30, 1903, and Lois. For many years after coming to Hiawatha, Mr. CYPHERS with his father and brother were engaged in the contracting and building business. In 1885, he moved to a farm, two miles north of Hiawatha. Here he lived until 1909, when he with his family returned to Hiawatha. He leaves surviving him his wife, his daughter, Lois, one brother, Paul of this vicinity, and a brother Charles of Edmonton, Canada, besides a host of relatives and friends. Mr. CYPHERS was an affectionate father and husband, a kind neighbor and a respected citizen. While his end was sudden, it was peaceful and we doubt that his soul is at rest with his God. - Contributed.
