Lawrence E. Capper, 81, of 41 Canyon Rd. SW, Carrollton, died Monday in his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 1, 1902, in Union Twp., a son of the late Emerson and Carrie Jane (Fawcett) Capper.

He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, a 65 year member of Petersburg Grange and a member of Pomona Grange.

He was married Dec. 8, 1931 to the former Florence Brackin, who survives, along with two sons, Donald B. Capper of Dellroy and David L. Capper of Cambridge; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Erma Jane) Baughman of Carrollton; four brothers, Charles and Frank, both of Carrollton, Norris of Elgin, Iowa, and Kendle of LaBelle, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Grace Yealey of Carrollton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. James Thobaben officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Calling hours were held this Wednesday at the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home in Carrollton, who was in charge of arrangements, and at the church from noon until 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the Carroll County chapter of Visitor Nursing Assn.
