Otis H. "Red" Andrews, 87, of Joppa died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Andrews was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Madison County to John and Lula Taylor Andrews.

He was a carpenter and a member of Joppa Church of God.

He is survived by his wife: Bessie Kimbrough Andrews of Joppa; sons and daughters-in-law: Otis and Penny Andrews of Union Grove and Wayne and Ann Andrews of Joppa; daughters: Shirley Jarrett of Arab, Susan Serrano of Joppa and Mary Andrews of Arab; brother: Verdie Andrews of Union Hill; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three grandsons.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Joppa Church of God with Jimmy Hamaker officiating. Burial was in Rice Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Terry Andrews, Justin Thompson, Brandon Jarrett, Dillion Andrews, J.P. Jackson and Jonathon Ferguson.

Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Nix, Buck Jones and Johnny Thompson.
