- She lived in : Texas, Eritrea, Alabama, Morocco, Virginia, England, Germany, Maryland, California, and finally back to Texas. In addition to the places they lived, she and her husband traveled enthusiastically to learn about many cultures and places.

- She was an amazing genealogical researcher before the age of computers. She and her husband, visited libraries, court houses, grave sites and interviewed hundreds of people. Sifting through thousands of books, documents, microfilm, etc., she found thousands of records and identified thousands of photographs.
