Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Petersburg chapel of Ralston-McCauley Funeral Home for Glendon Ray (Monk) Metcalf of Shelbyville, who died Monday Night (April 2, 1990) in Parkview Hospital, Nashville following a brief illness. He was 56.
Steve Tudor officiated and burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.
A native of Moore Co, Tn., he was a son of the late Shirley B. and Ora Chisam Metcalf. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
Mr. Metcalf is survived by three daughters, Ruby R. Metcalf and Virginia L. Metcalf of Shelbyville and Kimberly R. Metcalf of Tennessee; one son, Glendon R. Metcalf Jr. of Shelbyville; two sisters, Ruby Ekenroth of Lewisburg and Virginia McCarty of Steamwood, Ill., and two brothers, Shirley Thomas Metcalf of Petersburg, and James Robert Metcalf of Athens, Mich.
