He was a member of Rufe Baptist Church, Rufe. He moved to Rufe in 1987 after living in Tyler, Texas, since 1949. Bud retired from Tyler Pipe Industries in 1977.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Opal Brodie, of the home; his daughters and sons-in-law, Charline and Alton Meadows of Ringold, Mary and Harvey Morris of Greenville, Texas, and Edna and Harold McKinzie of Sulphur Springs, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Nancy Brodie of Sulphur Springs, Texas; two brothers, Jim Brodie of Glover and Bobbie Brodie of Tyler, Texas; one sister, Mabel Wilson of Tyler, Texas; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rufe Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Valliant Cemetery under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home, Valliant.
