Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. funeral services at the Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee. Dr. Ed Heck will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Gardens of Memory. Memorials may be made to Independent Fundamental Churches of America (IFCA) or to the donor's choice.
Mr. Tanner retired from Harris Bank in Chicago and was a farmer.
He was born May 10, 1913, in Kankakee, the son of William and Anna Hertz Tanner. His wife, the former Bess Ernest, whom he married Dec. 6, 1947, is deceased. He was a member of the Fellowship Ranch board in Missouri, a member of the IFCA and a church board member at Calvary Bible, Freewill Baptist Church.
One sister, Lucille Lehnus, of Kankakee, survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roland Tanner; and one sister, Opal White.
