LAWTON, Oklahoma--Mary Frances May Hornaday, 71, of Fordyce, Arkansas, died September 25, 1997, at her daughter's home.

She was born at Fort Smith, Arkansas, on October 20, 1925, a daughter of the late Lessie Mae Sykes May and Thomas J. May of Garland, Texas.

She was an insurance agent for funeral and life insurance companies and the Benton Funeral Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church at Fordyce, the Million Dollar Club (Insurance Sales), Daughters of the American Revolution and a lifetime member of Arkansas Sheriffs Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Hornaday, the Dallas County Sheriff.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise Brown of Lawton and Sylvia Jones of Fordyce; a sister, Pat Wilson of Garland; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Ebenezer Cemetery near Fordyce with the Revs. Ken Shaddox and B.L. Blann officiating.

Arrangements are handled by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
