Anne Knight Yost, age 71, died on March 26, 2008 after a nearly two year courageous battle with lung cancer. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Yost and her father, Herman Clinton Knight.
Anne was born November 16, 1936 in Decatur, Georgia. Anne graduated from Clarkston High School in Atlanta, went on to work in the corporate offices for Gulf Oil and met John Yost, a local builder who eventually became a land developer. They were married for 45 years and enjoyed many years of close friends and travel, especially to Hilton Head Island, SC and Highlands, NC. Anne will always be remembered as a true southern lady, an avid reader, a talented painter, and was dedicated to her home and family. She was a member of John's Creek Baptist Church, had been a volunteer Candy Striper for DeKalb General Hospital and lived in the Atlanta area all her life.
Anne is survived by her mother, Eloise Knight, daughter and son-in-law Kim and Fuzzy Davis of Hilton Head Island; son and daughter-in-law Rick and Jill Yost of Duluth, GA and six grandchildren including Drew and Kerry Davis of Hilton Head Island and several family members, all in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral service was held in Atlanta, Georgia on March 29, 2008. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atlanta Union Mission 165 Alexander Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313 or Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC, 28607 (828-262-1980).
