There seems to be some confusion as to if Burchard George Greene is actually buried in southern Pines: A telegram sent to his family in Burke NY stated that Burchard died and was buried in Southern Pines, although a burial plot was purchased, a search of that plot determined that no one is buried there and seems there is no records of his death recorded.
Florence Mabel Jackson Greene gave birth to 3 children after the reported death. Not sure if she may have married another Greene, or if Burchard was still alive. A deep family secret that both parties took with them to the grave.
