Regina was born in Petrokow, Russia-Poland to Menuel and Rivka Zimbler. Her father was killed in 1913 but she and three siblings managed to escape the pogroms. Regina, a sister, and a brother each made their separate way to America, while one other sister escaped to Israel. The remaining siblings, cousins, and her mother Rivka all became victims of the Holocaust. Regina's journey took her to Berlin and then to the port in Rotterdam Holland where she boarded a ship in 1915 bound for Ellis Island in New York. From there she traveled to Saint Paul, Minnesota to join her older sister and brother-in-law. She married in 1919 and had three sons, one of which died an infant. Not only a wife and mother, Regina was active in community service through the Temple and the VFW, serving on auxiliary boards and member committees throughout her life. She was Grandma to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her blintzes, matzo ball soup, and boiled chicken were the stuff of family legend.
