Funeral services for Oliver Josephson, 80, of Rt. 1 Middleton, who died Friday at home of natural causes, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell by Rev. Daniel Secord of the First United Methodist Church in Middleton. Interment will follow at the Middleton Cemetery.

Oliver was born on August 5, 1907 at Pingree, Idaho, to John and Johanna Josephson. He was reared and educated there. He farmed there and later became a barber.

He married Doris Wasserman on Feb. 24, 1942, at Boise. They lived in Idaho Falls. He returned to farming and in 1947 they moved to Pingree. He farmed there until they moved to a farm near Middleton in 1952. They also operated a dairy for many years. He retired from farming in 1976.

Oliver enjoyed camping, bowling and singing. He always had a good sense of humor. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Middleton and in the past was active in the Middleton Grange #12. He was a master of the Middleton Grange. Years ago he was involved with the Odd Fellows Lodge in Idaho Falls.

He is survived by his wife Doris of Middleton; five daughters, Julia Stephens, Gayle King and Patty Pennington, all of Middleton, Karen Swafford of Portland, Ore., and Elaine Wocick of Moran, Wyo.; one brother Earnest Josephson of Pingree; and one sister, Alice Myers of Blackfoot; 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
