Alice M. Brooks Died Thursday at Ironwood
~~Miss Alice M. Brooks, formerly of Marshall, died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday in Grandview Hospital, Ironwood Mich., where she had been a patient for five weeks.
~~She was born in Chicago, Jan 13, 1882, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brooks. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1901 and attended the University of Michigan Nursing school, graduating in 1905.
~~She served as superintendent of Lakewood O., hospital for 12 years and later was office nurse until her retirement in 1954.
~~She was a member of the Marshall Chapter, D.A.R.; the Ohio State Nurses Association and was a member of the Methodist church.
~~Surviving are a sister Mrs. Thomas Jeffery, with whom she had been residing; one niece Mrs. William J. Tonkin, Sterling, Ill.; and one nephew, Thomas B. Jeffery, Janesville, Ill.
