Mr. J. B. Isbell, age 71, of 17 Townview Rd., Rome, died Saturday morning in a local hospital, following an automobile accident.
Mr. Isbell was born in Floyd County on November 9, 1920, son of the late Jud and Myrtle Fricks Isbell. He was retired from Coosa Valley Technical Institute and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of New Bethel Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred (Howard) Isbell, Rome; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Reed, Canton; a son, Larry Isbell, Cedartown; 2 brothers, William Isbell, Rome, Jack Isbell, Monroe, GA; a sister, Mrs. Katie Sloan, Rome; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 PM at Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willard Willis and Rev. Gary Hibbets officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 9 PM at Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home, and at other hours, will be at the residence.
Pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home on Monday at 1:45 PM and include: Steven Postell, Wayne Quick, Scott Postell, Eddie Bagwell, Joey Warren and Chad Isbell.
Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
