Margaret moved to Wilsonville about 1922. She left Braidwood to be close to her family. Her father Joseph had moved here to work in the coal mine. She got a job in the dry goods shop up town in Wilsonville. When she ment Vic she fell in love. She said she married the only boy that she was seeing that didn't get her something for Christmas that year , she got gift from 2 others LOL. They lived in Wilsonville until the mine closed in 1953, Vic had been a forman there. Maggie had a sister , Cathereine that lived in Hollywood, Ca so they packed up and moved west but Maggie would not let her home in Wilsonville go. It was on School street just one home between hers and what had been her parents home and her brother Jim now lived in. Maggie's Mom had given her the money to buy it in the 1930's for $500 and Maggie worked hard to pay her back out of her egg money each week. She payed $50 more for the garage. They lived in Hollywood and then later moved to Glendale, sharing a home with her daughter and family. By 1962 Vic was sick with Black lung and the Dr. said the air in LA was not good for him. They tried Desert Hot springs first but he was no better so they moved back to Wilsonville to live out there days. There Maggie went back to work as a cook in Benld, IL. She loved to play cards and would get together with her lady friends for a game. She also liked all kinds of crafts and loved to sew etc.
