Ali Mae grew up in Newark and attended local schools, graduating from Newark High School with the class of 1942. Following graduation, she worked as a waitress at the Strand Restaurant in Aurora for several years.
Ali Mae Miller was united in marriage to Leslie G. Miller on June 23, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora, IL. They began their new life together on the Miller family farm in Maple Park where Ali Mae fulfilled her life long ambition of being a mother, raising a family and making their house a home. For many years while her children were growing up, you could see Ali Mae behind the meat counter at Edmeier's Supermarket in Hinckley.
Though Ali Mae loved to go camping with her friends from throughout the area, her most precious joys were her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona and summers in Illinois. Above all, her first love was spending her winters in Arizona and summers in Illinois. Above all, her first love was spending time with her husband. Whether it was bowling on leagues in Sandwich or camping together, Ali Mae was the happiest with her husband at her side.
She now leaves her husband Leslie G. Miller of Hinckley; two children Robert "Bob" Miller (Diane Hoehn) and their children Casey, Kyle, Colin of Batavia, IL, Kathy Jo (Miller) Voorheis and her children Leslie Mae, Ede Jo, Amanda Jean, William H. "Willie" all of Chandler, AZ; and a community of friends.
She now joins her parents and one brother, Robert K. H. Weeks, who preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2003 at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL.
