Amelia Mae (Woodside) Skolfield, age 98, of Irvine, California formerly of Salem, MO. died Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

Amelia Mae was born to Relfe & Mae (Pence) Woodside on August 7, 1913, in Salem MO. She grew up in Salem and
attended school there for two years until her family moved to Mount Vernon, MO., where she finished grade school. Mae then entered a private school untill she was ready for a high school. Following High School, she continued her education in Gulf Park Mississippi College. She then moved back to Spingfield, MO. where she attended Teachers College for a Buisness Course. Mae then moved to Los Angeles, CA. where she met, through a mutual friend, a handsome man by the name Stuart Skolfield, they married soon after and celebrated over 57 years together. She was the love of his life. They moved to Riverside, CA. in the 1940's and together they raised three beautiful children.
Mae was a shy and gentle woman who was a beloved wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother,
dear sister, aunt, and a loyal friend. Though a woman of few words she displayed her kindness, generosity and grace through opening her home with warmth that made everyone who entered feel welcome. She was a gourmet cook and made every holiday special to her family and friends. She enjoyed Bingo, loved to play cards, and watch Lawrence Welch on TV. Mae was very strong in her Methodist Religion, she loved to attend the Crenshaw Methodist Church and all the pot luck dinners there with her family. She was a President of the P.T.A, Girl Scout leader, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution
and a member of the Ebell club. She was truly a special woman and will be greatly missed by many.
Mae is survived by her beloved children, Stuart Skolfield of Florida, John and his wife Wendy from Topanga Canyon, and a daughter Martha Gorny who's husband is Daniel Gorny of Irvine. Grandchildren, Brian & Samuel Skolfield, &
Great-Grandson Ryder Skolfield

Her Funeral will be held in Waverly Chappel on Tuesday Oct. 4 at 12 Pm Located at 1702 Fairhaven
Ave., Santa Ana, CA. 92705. Followed by the burial at Fairhaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
