Publicist. He was a legendary publicist who helped get Dwight Eisenhower elected president. Along with his wife, actress and model Jinx Falkenburg, he popularized the talk show format with their radio and television shows which were often broadcasted from the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. During World War II he was a photographer and public relations officer with the Army Air Corps often touring with Bob Hope. In 1945 he was one of the first Americans to visit Hiroshima after the atomic bomb was dropped, and he advised journalists not to write about what they had seen because he did not think Americans could stand to know "what we've done here."
