Barbara Mae Postema, age 68 of Grand Rapids, Minn., died on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011.
Barbara was born in 1943 to William and Harriet Anderson in Philadelphia, Pa. She loved gardening, cooking, canning, country music, watching Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, and spending time with her family. She worked at Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marina Anderson and Helen Blake and grandson, Dustin Heinzer.
Barbara is survived by five daughters, Carina Ruotsi, Grand Rapids, Minn., Charmaine (Steve) Leger, Duluth, Minn., Cindy (Barney) Gray, Eyota, Minn., Colleen (Paul) Carlson, Cloquet, Minn., Carla (Jim) Troumbly, Coleraine, Minn.; sisters, Becky, Sandra, Martha and Melissa; brothers, William, Scott, Shane, Edward and Brett; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Gathering of Friends will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Inurnment will be in Ball Bluff Cemetery, Ball Bluff Township.
