She was preceded by her parents, husband in 1953, a son, Henry; four brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Ferneding was born Feb. 12, 1890, at Bellwood, Neb., a daughter of Winand and Katherine Moes Beckers. She spent her early life in the Bellwood area and later on moved with her parents to Gregory, S.D. On May 31, 1911, she was married to Joseph Ferneding at St. Joseph's church in Gregory.
After their marriage, they farmed near Gregory until 1933 when they moved to Storm Lake. In 1948, they moved to Carroll. She was a member of St. Lawrence parish and the Ladies Guild.
