Death of Mrs. Ellen Davis
Mrs. Ellen Davis, fifty-eight (sic) years old, died last Saturday at the home of her son, G. W. Davis, 840 South Taylor avenue, and her death was indirectly, at least, caused by the space between the platforms and the trains on the Metropolitan line. Three weeks ago she fell between the cars and the platform and was taken to Oak Park hospital. She recovered sufficiently to go home, but a few days later she fell on the stairs and sustained more severe injuries, which caused her death.
Since the accident, the Metropolitan company has begun repairs on its platform, and the public is to be protected in the future.
Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons. The funeral services, conducted by an old ministerial friend took place Tuesday at the residence.
