On Oct. 18, 1884, their little son Everett, was bitten by a rattlesnake and passed away as it was difficult to find a doctor readily. Their crops failed and they were forced to return "busted" to Il. They struggled along and finally bought a team of horses and started anew. In Jan. 18, 1894, a daughter Rosalea was born. Rosalea, is now Mrs. Frank Bliven of Colchester, Il.
