James Brackett, aged 78, died Saturday of paralysis at his home near Dink Farmer's and was buried at McCormack's church Sunday afternoon. He was the father of Mrs. Ed Hubbard, of this place, and was a clever old gentleman.

James Anyan Brackett was born on October 21, 1824, in Lincoln County*, Kentucky, his father, Argyle Pleasant Brackett, was 25 and his mother, Nancy Ann Mills Brackett, was 26. He married Rebecca Ann Hurst in 1848 in Kentucky. There children are Martha, Josephine, William Elijah, Sarah Jane, Argyle Pleasant, Mary America, Sylva, James Walker, Eliza, and Allie Mae . He died on August 10, 1901, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, having lived a long life of 76 years, and was buried in his hometown.
*Note:I have checked 229 birth locations, this is what I have 78, say Lincoln County, 75 say Knox in Pike County, 38 say Bell County, 38 say Knox County.
