Funeral service is 11 AM Wednesday, August 1, at Thomasboro Baptist Church, with Reverend Kenneth Hollifield and Reverend Gary Hunsucker officiating. Interment will be in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11 AM Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Almond was a member of the Thomasboro Baptist Church, and a member of the Men's Bible Class. He was a son of the late Lucy Burleson and the late William Bangle Almond, born July 20, 1917 in Stanly County. Mr. Almond had worked as an electrician for Colonial Stores, and had served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn Frick Almond of Charlotte; a son, Alan Almond of Charlotte; a brother, Judson Almond of Albemarle; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son.
