Hull, George E. 85, of Waukegan passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at his home. He was born May 9, 1926 in Bensonville, IL and had lived in this area for 60 years. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the Navy in the South Pacific, he was a member of the Corvette Club, enjoyed playing golf at Bonnie Brook Golf Course and working on cars and working in his yard. He was a firefighter at Great Lakes for 5 years and retired from the Waukegan Fire Department as a Captain after 22 years of service. George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna (nee Wedekind); his daughter, Denise (Gary) Grogan of Waukegan; 2 sons, Jeffrey of Zion and Kurt (Karen) Hull of Winthrop Harbor; 2 granddaughters, Kalina and Kristi Hull; 2 grandsons, Gary (Jini) Grogan and Tim (Shirley) Grogan as well as 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ella Hull; sister, Beatrice (Wally) Zuhda; infant daughter, Jody and 2 infant grandsons, William and Wayne Grogan. Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan with Pastor Brad Davick of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to time of service.
