Son of Jesse James Evander and Nancy Jane Jordan Harrelson, husband of Bertha Mae.

FLORENCE - Carson A. Harrelson, 65, retired official of the Florida East Coast Railroad Co., died unexpectedly at his residence early Tuesday night in St. Augustine, Fla. He retired in 1933 due to declining health.

Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Souls Chapel Cemetery in Gresham by the Rev. H. B. Jones, retired Baptist minister, Thursday at 4 p.m. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

Mr. Harrelson, a native of Loris, was born December 11, 1888, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Evander Harrelson, both of Loris.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertha Mae Harrelson of St. Augustine, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Robert R. Laidlaw of Chicago, Ill.; three sons, Herbert Harrelson of Hendersonville, NC, Rev. James P. Harrelson of Walterboro and Carl A. Harrelson Jr. of the US Air Force.

Friends may call at the Waters Funeral Home in Florence Thursday morning. The funeral cortege will leave the funeral home at 2:30 p.m.
