Iva was born in Absorokee, Mont. March 28, 1921. She was one of nine children born to Henry "H.B." "Teen" Freel and Minirva "Minnie" (Hutchins) Freel. Iva graduated from Omak High School in 1939. She married Donald N. Woods, her loving husband of nearly 70 years, on Nov. 20, 1941.
Iva is survived by her husband, Donald; sons, Robert of Winlock, Wash. and Jim (Janie) of Carlton, Wash.; one daughter, Kathleen Woods Hurd of Burien, Wash.; brother, Ken (Glenda) Freel of Omak, Wash; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Iva was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Aug. 11, 10 a.m., at Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel, 2547 Elmway, Okanogan, Wash. Graveside services followed at Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens. A reception at the Okanogan Grange began at noon.
Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel was in care of arrangements.
