Ethel Parmley of Monticello, died on Christmas Day. Parmley, a homemaker, was 80 years old.
She was born to parents, George Isaac New and Frona Dick New on July 25, 1915 in Wayne County. Along with her parents, her husband, James Chrisman Parmley, preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Floyd, Hobart, and Gaylord New.
Parmley is survived by two sons, Victor Parmley of Frankfort, Kentucky and Danny Ray Parmley of Monticello. She is also survived by three daughters, Mary Polson, Danville, Doris Adkins, Monticello and Amy Parmley, Louisville; four sisters, Thelma Bertram, New Castle, Indiana, Rilda Daffron, Covington, Kentucky, Norma Morrow of Ohio and Eloise of California; and two brothers, Hubert New of Dayton, Tennessee, and Ardell New of Monticello. Parmley leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 28, at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home. Brother Clyde Adkins performed the service and burial was at Parmley's Grove Cemetery.
