BREDIN—Charles, A., 85, 1700 East 71st Street North, passed away Monday, Veterans Hospital, Muskogee.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, May 17, 1891. He was preceded in death by Olivia, his beloved wife of 48 years.

In 1909, Mr. Bredin enlisted in the Army and spent 5 years in China following the Boxer Rebellion. He was discharged in 1913 and re-enlisted in 1918 and went to France where he was in the Argonne Offensive, and served at Verdun where he was in a battalion inspected by General Pershing and was present when the last cannon was fired in France. He played in the band when the doughboys marched down 5th Avenue upon the soldiers return to the U.S. In 1924, he re-enlisted. His discharges are honorable and without blemish, containing many citations.

He began his Postal Career in Long Island, New York transferred to Tulsa about 1932. Retired from the Postal Service as a clerk in the downtown office after 30 years duty.

He is survived by 3 sisters, Alfreda Sones, New Haven Conn., Violet Richter, Long Island, New York, Elsie Moser, Long Island, New York; one brother, Harold Bredin of New Jersey.

Mr. Bredin was instrumental in the placing of mail pickup stations on the North side and in Turley. They resided at 1911 North College, where they donated the location to the Ball Memorial Methodist Church. Moved to Turley 1955. Mr. Bredin was a confessed Nazarene but he and his wife supported and assisted numerous churches and other organizations, where they shall long be remembered.

Service 2 p.m., Wednesday, Ninde Garden Chapel. With full military honors at the graveside by the American Legion. Rev. R.J. Shade officiating. Interment Rose Hill Cemetery. Turley Lodge 28 I.O.O.F will serve as honorary pallbearers.
