Abe Bledsoe worked as a tool dresser for oil rigs in several locations in Oklahoma including Keifer, Mounds, Drumright, and Cushing. A tool dresser or "Toolie" is the driller's assistant on an oil well and is responsible for sharpening or dressing the drill bit.
Abe also worked as a ranch hand near Chelsea, for the railroad, and operated an ice dock in Shamrock.
Abe and Bertha moved to Tulsa, OK in 1944 where they lived the remainder of their lives.
