Roy was drafted November 25,1942 and went to Camp Grant, Illinois for basic training then was shipped out of Norfolk,Va. by boat to Casablanca Africa and fought in the invasion into Italy at Naples and Rome and pushed their way up the Poe River Valley, Roy purchased a fiat car to drive around while he was there and had to leave it behind when he returned to Norfolk,Virginia, United States. Roy was discharged in October 28,1945 at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Roy Passed away April 10, 2011
