Velma Jean (Knipp) Hatfield, 82, of Connersville, died Saturday, April 5, 2008.
Born Oct. 3, 1925 in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Lester C. and Ruth M. (Kellam) Knipp, both deceased. She married Lloyd H. Hatfield Aug. 9, 1946; he survives.
Mrs. Hatfield was a 1943 graduate of Centerville High School. A homemaker, she had also worked at the medical office of Dr. Donahue in Dublin. She attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of the genealogy group at the Fayette County Library.
Survivors in addition to her husband include children, Carolyn J. Wagner of Connersville, William H. (Sylvia) Hatfield of Knightstown, Ruth E. (Tim) Roy of Liberty Township, Ohio, Vicky J. (Burl) Neal of Greenfield and Richard C. (Lois) Hatfield of Rushville; 11 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and a sister, Vera Vance of Connersville.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Vern Knipp.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Moster-Robbins Funeral Home in Connersville with the Rev. John Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Fund, Fayette Regional Hospital Hospice or the Coalition of Pulmonary Fibrosis.
