JOEHENE "EDISON" MATNEY, 85 years of age of Lebanon, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon, VA, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Richard H. Sr. and Lottie Rife Matney. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life and was a member of Harman Memorial Baptist Church and attended the Reeds Valley Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a Butcher for a Grocery Store.
Mr. Matney was preceded in death by his first wife, Mell Frances Cole Matney.
He is survived by his second wife, Frances V.
