Frances Mae Carden Snell, 90, of Leesburg, Florida, was born April 25, 1921 in Crisp County, Georgia and died Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Leesburg, FL. She moved to Florida at a very young age and graduated from Tavares High School, class of 1938. She had a long career in civil service, including State Auditor, Lake Co. Selective Service (Draft Board) and Social Security Administration. She was a member of Leesburg Missionary Baptist Church and lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star, Tavares. She loved her church, her family and her Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Snell is survived by her daughters, Linda (Wade) Myers of Leesburg, FL, Carole (Frank) Waller of Fruitland Park, FL; son, Heber "Buddy" (Jennifer) Stone of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford in 1996. A Funeral Service will be held at Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11 AM. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery, Leesburg, FL. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Leesburg Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 490108, Leesburg, FL 34749.
