According to a newspaper account (Enid Morning News, Okla.) by Mrs. Kenneth Ransom circa 1973, "The most outstanding monument is that of T.J. Kent, who died in 1923, and Nancy, his wife, who died in 1919. the monument has their pictures on it, still clear and plain after 50 years even though it faces the hot baking sun on the west. Two big cedar trees are at the north edge of the Kent lot, and a cement walk surrounds it. The family lost an infant son in 1894, and his stone is on the same lot. Some markers in the cemetary have been there so long one cannot read the names on them." There is a whole article on this cemetary, and a picture of the Kent monument and a grandson, William Kent of Pond Creek, sitting in front of it. The picture shows part of the information on T.J. Kent (William is blocking the rest of the info), and the picture of T.J. and Nancy is very clear at the top of the monument. I cannot see the whole number for the year of birth, just "18" so I put 1850 so the system would take the numeber. I can get the correct info and will fix this as soon as I can. T.J. is my husband's great great grandfather on his paternal grandmother's side (she was a sister to William if I understand correctly). There is a Kent Family reunion on a regular basis in the Enid area so there should be a lot more info out there on this family. They've been in that part of Oklahoma for a long time as has my husband's paternal grandfather's family, Herma Arthur Messenger.
