Son of the late Buck Taylor and Jessie Rogerson, he retired from Roanoke Chevrolet in 2001, where he worked as a front-end alignment mechanic. He was a member of Community Christian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was survived by his wife, Mary Holliday Rogerson (married on August 5, 1955); his son, Chuck Rogerson (Karen); daughters, Elaine Davidson (Larry) and Deeborah Rogerson; sisters, Dorothy Williford (Bill) and Rosa Sardian; brother, Dickie Taylor (Carolyn); grandchildren, Hunter Rogerson and Heath Rogerson; and an extended family of relatives and friends. His funeral was held on September 25, 2011, with ministers Dale Minton and Joey Brickhouse officiating.
