Leander J Wilbur died at Mansion Square hospital, Poughkeepsie, Aug 14, 1921. He was born in the town of Pine Plains, son of Jeptha & Mary Jane Story Wilbur. Some 40 years ago he was engaged in the business of dealing in grain & feed, and later took the coal & lumber business previously conducted by John Rowe. Afterwards he went to Poughkeepsie, and with his brother Daniel engaged in the coal & lumber business now carried on by the D.W. Wilbur Company. Something over a dozen years ago he had a stroke of paralysis which left him incapacitated, and for the past 5 years he has been in the hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Wilbur, Pine Plains; son Dr. D.W. Wilbur 2nd, Rhinebeck; dau Mrs. Guy [Ethel] Beckwith, Poughkeepsie, brother former Mayor D.W. Wilbur, Poughkeepsie.
